FEBRUARY IN PORTLAND

$9.00

February in Portland is a colorwork and lace yoke pullover, knit top-down and in the round in fingering weight yarn. Sleeves are tapered or puff – options for both are included in the pattern.

Aptly named, February in Portland features colorwork motifs and intricate lacework that recall raindrops and the drizzly rainfall that characterizes Portland winters.

Needles:
US4/3.5mm (or size needed to obtain gauge) circular needles in 16”/40-50cm and your preferred length for sweater knitting, as well as long circulars for magic loop or DPNs for sleeves

US3/3.25mm circular needles in 16”/40-50cm and your preferred length for sweater knitting, for collar and hem ribbing

US2/2.75mm long circular needles for magic loop or DPNs for sleeve cuffs

Tools: 2 spare circular needles/cables or scrap yarn; stitch markers; tapestry needle

Gauge:
28 st x 32 rows = 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm) in stranded colorwork, after blocking, using larger needles
28 st x 32 rows = 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm) in stockinette, after blocking, using larger needles

Note: In testing, some knitters found that they needed to size down a needle size to match their stockinette to colorwork gauge.

After testing, the collar and top portion of the colorwork was reworked to create a slightly looser collar and more streamlined increase. What you see in sample photos is the original collar.
